Guest Writing

Sometimes our words escape us, or we don't know the best way to describe what we want to deliver the greatest impact.

Andy Salkeld personally writes all the blog posts here on this site and has contributed to many others over the years. Regardless of whether you are looking for a commentary on something in particular, or just looking for an open piece on the wider world, Andy is willing to help by writing a piece specific to your needs.

Andy always writes in his in close to the bone and rhetorical style, highlighting the objective realities of a situation in a humours and approachable manner.

Below are links to some of Andy's most popular articles found on this website and others.

Breaking the Stigma

Breaking the Stigma

Breaking the Stigma was originally published on LinkedIn and then re-published on this website a day later.

This was where everything started. An opening gambit like no other simply stating 'This is my story. This is real. Take note; or don't. The choice is yours.'

Andy shared everything in this article; speaking openly and honestly about his mental health, his divorce, his life with depression and finally his almost end.

What followed from this article and his first talk, also titled Breaking the Stigma has been nothing short of incredible.

Concerning Concern

Concerning Concern

Concerning Concern was written during a relapse into darker thoughts. It was an honest piece about nothing more than the pain felt on the eve of his divorce finalising.

The blog talks about what it is like trying to care for others who struggle with their mental health. You can try and do absolutely everything possible, but if they don't want to hear it, or don't want to see it, then it will always fall flat. All you can do is reassure them that you are there.

An important message at the end states that even though objectively your life can be something extraordinary, that you may never feel that way. Emotions are unfair and it's up to you to accept yourself and how you feel.
